The Detection and Control of Flammable Substance course was designed by Energy Safety Canada to Collaborate with industry to arrive at one clear, simple and agreed upon way to performing work safely.
Gas Detection Training Topics
This course explores the features and operation of most common Catalytic and Infrared Gas monitors used in industry. These personal, portable and fixed monitor are used in LEL detection (Lower Explosive Limit) to help warn workers of dangerous flammable gas levels are present.
Upon completion of the training Theory and Practical portion of the course, there will be a knowledge exam.
Successful participants who achieve 70% or greater will receive certification valid for three years.

Course Objectives:
Students will gain an understanding of how to safely monitor and control flammable substances, and gases that individuals can be exposed to in the oil and gas industry.
