Aerial Work Platform/combo AWP-02
This training program is designed to ensure safe operations of Aerial Work Platforms such as telescopic and articulating booms or scissor lifts. The course teaches students health and safety standards, preventive maintenance, and safe operations.
Additional topics include load Pre-use inspections, elevated work platform standards, pre-work planning, load limitations and calculations, specs of different machines, platform types, system components and how to safely operate an elevated work platform in the field.
As a combination course with Fall Protection we’ll cover equipment specs and limitations, identifying components of personal travel restraint and fall arrests symptoms. Additional topics include stats, dynamics of falling, anchor points, connectors, rescue principles, regulations, fall protection systems, harness fitting and Suspension Trauma.
Upon completion of the training Theory and Practical portion of the course, there will be a knowledge exam.
COURSE INFORMATION
Course Requirements:
Fall Protection training is a pre-requisite for Aerial Work Platform Training, you will be required to present proof of valid certification prior to attending this course.
Course Objectives:
Provide students with a three year Aerial Work Platform Operator certificate.
Hours To Complete:
8 Hours
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment):
Hi-Visibility, vest, safety glasses, steel toed boots or site specific, weather appropriate clothing.
Certification:
Three year Certificate of Completion rewarded to students who pass with a minimum grade of 80% who also pass the practical component.
