First Aid Courses – CPR A&C / AED

COURSE INFORMATION

Course Requirements:

None.

Course Description:

Emergency First Aid: In this one-day course, students will learn to recognize and provide interventions for life-threatening emergencies until medical help arrives. Topics include: one rescuer CPR/AED, interventions and treatment for choking, shock and unconsciousness, severe bleeding, wound care, and major medical conditions.

Standard First Aid: This two-day course covers all the skills in Emergency First Aid plus first aid for other injuries and illnesses including head and spinal injuries, fractures of the upper and lower limbs, and others. This course includes Level C CPR training with (Adult, Child, Infant, and 2-rescuer resuscitation) and AED training.

Course Objectives:

Enable students to recognize and provide interventions for life-threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives.

Hours To Complete:

Emergency First Aid: 8 Hours, 1 day.

Standard First Aid: 16 Hours, 2 days.

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment):

Entire course is in classroom.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of all components, and based on the ticket purchased, participants will receive the appropriate certificates for Alberta, or Alberta AND British Columbia. Both of these courses are certified through St. John Ambulance.
